 Is teeth whitening safe?

Yes, when done properly, teeth whitening is safe. Our dental professionals are licensed and trained to perform our services. Our products are formulated with enamel-safe ingredients to minimize sensitivity and ensure a comfortable experience. However, it is essential to follow the instructions provided for the best results.

How long does the whitening process take?

The duration of the whitening process varies depending on the product or service chosen. Generally, our treatments range from 30 minutes to an hour for in-office sessions, while at-home treatments may take a few days to reach desired results.

How white will my teeth get?

You can expect to see up to 10 shades brighter immediately after your session. Individual results will depend on your current tooth shade and the composition of your teeth. Everyone has their own natural stopping point.

Will teeth whitening make my teeth sensitive?

While some individuals may experience temporary sensitivity during or after whitening, our products are designed to minimize discomfort.

How long does the results last?

The longevity of whitening results depends on factors such as diet, oral hygiene habits, and lifestyle choices. With proper care and occasional touch-ups, the results can last several months to a year.

Can my teenager whiten his/her teeth?

Most individuals 16 years of age or older with parental consent are eligible. A great time is before or after braces, special events such as prom or graduation. 

When is a good time for a touchup?

We recommend a touch up between 3 - 6 months, dependent upon your diet, lifestyle, hygienic habits, or genetics.

Are you a coffee drinker? Smoker? Do you have years worth of heavy set in stains you’d like to remove?

Do I still need to see my dentist for cleanings if I have a whitening session?

Cosmetic teeth whitening does not take the place of your regular and routine dental care. Not only is your regular dental cleanings recommend, they are encouraged. Please continue scheduling and maintaining routine care with your dentist a minimum of every 6 months to ensure your teeth, gums and oral cavity are healthy. A healthy mouth provides a better canvas for teeth whitening in general.

Does teeth whitening work on existing dental work?

Yes, our teeth whitening treatment can actively remove staining from existing dental work and take them back to the original color. Our goal is to clean up the existing dental work and whiten the natural teeth to match for a nice even smile. We however cannot whiten them beyond the original base color of the material used at the time of placement.

Is this treatment for everyone?

The Smiles 180 Teeth Whitening treatment provides dramatic results for anyone who wants to whiten their teeth. This includes people with teeth that have been stained by smoking or by substances such as coffee, tea, soda, wine and other consumable items. We also see great results on people with teeth stained by tetracycline, fluoride, and hereditary discoloration.
However, there may be extreme situations in which treatment may not be advised.
if you are in current pain, have not seen your dentist in over 1 year or have pending dental work, this treatment may not be recommended for you.

I am pregnant or nursing, is this safe for me?

While products are non toxic and safe for consumption. We recommend all pregnant and nursing individuals wait until after 6 weeks post birth and that they are cleared by their dental provider prior to having services performed.
